For teachers who have completed our Discovery and Odyssey Courses, Deep Dive Courses cover special topics in Project Based Learning and give you over 100 cumulative hours of training.

Deep Dive Courses for Educators

Art and Science of Challenge-Based Learning

You’ll have the opportunity to observe and co-facilitate a segment of a THINK Global School learning project in the field, as well as join THINK Learning Studio facilitator teams guiding other educators through their own Discovery Course journey. Through this process, you’ll learn:

  • How to mentor the writing of student rubrics & tables of excellence.
  • How to structure a student-driven showcase as a public product.
  • How to mentor a teaching faculty guided by PBL pedagogy.
  • How to assess co-teaching faculty and prepare for PBL driven accreditation .

What You’ll Learn:

In addition to working directly with our sister organization, THINK Global School, all Deep Dive courses invite participants to explore very specific PBL topics in greater detail.

  • Topic: Teacher as supporting facilitator, not project designer
  • Topic: Planning a semester around all-in PBL mindsets and strategies
  • Topic: Shifting physical classrooms to agile studios and R+D labs

Day 2

Deep Dive 1: Moving from Occasional Projects to a PBL Mindset Classroom

Making Time and Feedback Flexible

  • Topic: Making time and pace adapt to project goals
  • Topic: Deconstructing the ‘classroom’ time table
  • Topic: Helping students develop realworld audiences and mentors
  • Topic: Seeing the ‘end of a project’ as just a stage

Day 3

Deep Dive 1: Moving from Occasional Projects to a PBL Mindset Classroom

Student Voice and Choice 2.0

  • Topic: Shifting from teacher questions to long-term student vision
  • Topic: Helping educators start and end as facilitators
  • Topic: Building student portfolios around genuine inquiry and discovery
  • Topic: Hacking the world and other entrepreneurial strategies

Day 4

Deep Dive 1: Moving from Occasional Projects to a PBL Mindset Classroom

Bringing the Outside In

  • Topic: Developing networks of just-in-time experts and mentors
  • Topic: Redesigning the classroom as ‘basecamp’
  • Topic: Helping students develop custom teams of guides and coaches
  • Topic: Turning the community into the classroom
