Dreamtime in VR: Bridging Worlds Through Storytelling

Driving Question: How can a virtual reality short film be used to effectively capture and showcase Indigenous Australian Dreamtime stories and bush culture knowledge, in a way that ensures appropriateness and sensitivity to the Indigenous communities?

In this learning adventure, participants get to explore the fascinating mix of technology, culture, and storytelling! This project aims to create a cool Virtual Reality (VR) tool that tells the amazing stories of Aboriginal Australia. We’ll discover how these stories connect to the land and why they’re so important. Together, we’ll learn about Aboriginal Dreamtime stories and their special meaning.
The focus of this project is on being respectful and working together. We want to understand and celebrate the Aboriginal culture. Through fun activities, some research, and talking to experts, you’ll learn how to make your own VR experience. This isn’t just about technology – it’s a chance to keep these incredible stories alive and show them to the world in a respectful way.
